What should I expect for a travel consultation?

Once you’ve filled out your travel request form, one of our travel consultants will reach out to schedule a time to understand your travel needs, budget, and timeline before providing recommendations based on their research. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the itineraries before we take care of the booking process for you.

Why do I have to pay a service fee?

You might have heard that airlines used to pay commission fees to travel agents, allowing them to offer their services at no additional cost. Unfortunately, airlines have moved away from this model.

So why might you still consider paying a fee for one of our travel consultants to plan your travel?

Reclaim your time. We spend the time to research itineraries that ensure a stress-free travel experience for you.
Let us handle the hours of on-hold music. If plans change or the unexpected happens, we’ll be your advocate to make sure you reach your destination, whether it’s home or abroad.

Are these fees refundable?

Service fees are non-refundable. We charge our service fees as late in the game as possible to save you from paying extra because of changing plans. Service fees are collected when flights are booked or, in the case of leisure travel planning, when the agreement to plan the trip is made.

Are there any other fees?

What you see is what you pay—prices include all service fees and taxes. All fees are included in the quote.

Are service fees processed in the same transaction as the tickets?

No, service fees and airfare are processed separately.

Are there additional fees for booking accommodations?

Not at all. As a courtesy, booking accommodations are covered within the flight or vacation planning service fee.

Does Butler Travel charge for visa itineraries and quotes?

Yes. If you need a visa itinerary, we charge $40. If you then book with us, we deduct the $40 from our service fees.

Will I be able to earn or redeem miles for my flights booked through Butler Travel?

In most cases, you will still earn rewards! However, to protect the security of your accounts, we can’t book flights using points on your behalf.
