2024 has been a year of changes for both the travel industry and Butler Travel. We have said a few goodbyes, welcomed many hellos, implemented a new look, integrated more efficient policies and workflows, and upgraded our website and social media presence. As we grow, Buter Travel continue to search for innovative solutions to build even more value into our services for you, our clients. One solution we have been considering and working with for a while is an amazing technology called Tern.
What is Tern?
Tern is an innovative travel technology designed to streamline the travel planning process and simplify the management of airfare itineraries. It is a platform that allows us to deliver personalized and well-organized travel plans quickly. Butler Travel has been proud to partner with Tern since they launched their Beta product in 2023. Some of you may have already experienced the technology’s earlier stages as we investigated how to implement this cutting edge technology in the most efficient manner possible. Nearly 18 months later, we are now ready to fully adopt Tern for a majority of our services.
Why Use Tern?
One of the biggest benefits of using Tern is their security. Tern uses advanced, state-of-the-art encryption protocols to protect personal and payment information. Amidst the myriad of cyber concerns, Tern provides a safe connection between Butler Travel and our clients to share and store the necessary information for your trip (i.e. Passports, etc) and to collect payment information securely.
Our clients’ experience is another contributing factor. Each of our advisors have bright personalities that show through in their work. Tern will allow us to keep those personal touches that you value while providing a more uniformed schedule proposal and quoting experience all around. It also gives Butler Travel advisors an easy, quick, and comprehensible way to present additional information and multiple options. Quoting, approving, payment, and finalization are all managed in one place, making it simple to track your bookings and any changes.
Tern provides added convenience to our clients’ experience. They have developed a mobile app that can be downloaded from your app store to keep track of your trip right from your mobile device. Soon, they will also enable Butler Travel to provide real-time alerts to flight changes, delays, or cancellations, keeping you informed every step of the way.
What Does this Mean for You?
Our desire is to continue to provide our clients with the personalized, personable, and professional experience we are known for, enhanced with Tern’s security, client experience, and convenience. Butler Travel’s goal is to fully implement Tern’s technology into our workflows by October 1st, 2024. To fully take advantage of Tern’s secure system, you will be asked to create an account on Tern the first time we use it. This account will be included in your Butler Travel services.
We understand the hesitation around managing yet another account and remembering yet another password. However, when it comes to travel, safeguarding sensitive data like passport information and confirmation numbers is crucial. Creating an account with Tern helps us ensure the security of your information, giving you peace of mind throughout your journey.
There are two ways to sign up for a Tern account: Website and the app. However, we’re going to recommend creating an account first on the web, and then downloading the app – it’s much easier in our experience. Once an account is created, we will be able to connect directly through the Tern system as well as through email, text, and phone.
For Our Corporate Clients
Our established procedures for our corporate clients will not change. Any pre-established payment protocols will remain in place and exempt from this change unless specifically requested otherwise. Future quotes may be made through the Tern system, but account creation is not necessary.
