Day 1: Arrive in Cairo

Arrival in Cairo. Transfer to the Sofitel Downtown on the Nile River. Dinner & O/N Sofitel Cairo. Optional pre-tour for early arrivers.

Day 2 Abraham—The Old Kingdom and First Intermediate Period

Visit Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. After lunch visit capital of Old Kingdom at Memphis, and burial sites at Saqqara including the Step Pyramid. DINNER/ON/ Sofitel Cairo.

Day 3 Grand Museum, Old Cairo

Visit Old Cairo churches including the hanging Church, St. Sergio where the Holy family lodged and on to Ben Ezra Synagogue. On to visit the Grand museum which is the biggest in the world. DINNER/ON/ Sofitel Cairo.

Day 4 Upper Egypt and the New Kingdom

Fly to Fly to Aswan. Visit the unfinished Obelisk, Aswan High Dam. Enjoy a traditional sail on Nile in a felucca. Evening attend the Philae Lightshow. D/ON/Aswan Sonesta Nuba

Day 5 Begin Nile Cruise for Lunch, Dinner/ON.

Fly to Abu Simbel and visit the remarkable temple of Ramses the Great that was saved from the flood waters of Lake Nasser. Fly back to Aswan. Embarkation on board of the cruise before lunch.

Day 6: Nile Cruise Aswan to Edfu

Visit Kom Ombo, optional morning worship on the ship. After lunch cruise the Nile, visit Edfu temple.

Day 7 Explore Capital of Upper Egypt

Spectacular morning cruise from Edfu to Luxor. After lunch visit Karnak and Luxor Temples. DINNER/ON/ CRUISE

Day 8 Moses—New Kingdom Burial Sites

Optional Hot Air Balloon ride over Valley of the Kings. Visit Valley of the Kings, Deir el Bahri, & Colossi of Memnon. Fly to Cairo; D/ON/Sofitel

Day 9 Survey of Egyptian Civilization, New Egyptian Museum.. D/ON/Sofitel

Day 10. Drive to Alexandria; the second largest city in Egypt found by Alexander the great. Panormaic views of the beautiful city. D/ON/Hilton or similar

Day 11 Apocrypha and New Testament—Ptolemaic Period Tour Alexandria: visit Alexandria library, Catacombs, Pompey’s pillar. View Qait Bay Citadel. Return to Cairo for D/ON/Heliopolis Hilton.

Day 12 Moses and the Exodus—Mount Sinai Depart for St. Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai; stops along the way for the Exodus. (the drive is 6 hours) DINNER/ON/St. Catherine’s Monastery.

Day 13 Moses on Mount Sinai 5 AM ascend Jebel Musa for sunrise and worship. Visit Elijah’s Hollow, Ras Safsafa, and St. Catherine’s Monastery (closes at 11:30). Drive to Sharm El Sheikh. Sharm el Sheik D/ON.

Day 14 Sharm el Sheik. Breakfast in Sharm El Sheikh. Lunch/late checkout for Cairo. (the drive is 6 hours) D/ON Le Meridian Cairo Airport.

Day 15 Fly home from Cairo.

The rate includes:

1. Accommodation 7 nights in Cairo, 1 night in Aswan, 3 nights on board of the cruise, 1 night in Alexandria, 1 night in St. Catherine and 1 night in Sharm El Sheikh.

2. All tours and transfers in AC deluxe coach.

3. All entrance fees mentioned in the itinerary.

How many people can I take?

We suggest keeping your numbers between 10 and 50 people. If you have more than that, we can split the group into two.

Is this tour customizable?

We work with you to create the tour you want to take your church, school or organization on. We will provide alternative suggestions if your requests don’t really work with a whole group.

What are the benefits of group tickets?

Depending on the size and type of the group, we will either recommend that all meals be included and provide an all-inclusive price or that it will be cheaper to do half board.

Will someone from Butler Travel lead the tour?

Right now, Butler Travel will just organize the tour. If you need a leader, we use our network of local tour leaders to find you a good option.

We do not include gratuities in our pricing. However, we can give you guidance on what you could tip based on the destination and culture.

Are there additional fees for booking a tour?

All of our service fees are included in the total package price.

How do we book a tour?

Let us know where you want to go! We’ll give you a quote based on your dates. This will be subject to change until we receive a deposit to secure hotels and flights. Once a tour is deposited, we will make the arrangements. All you need is find the people to take on the tour with you.
